Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Giraffe Space ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
Description of Service
Giraffe Space is a mobile application designed to help users learn and practice Nonviolent Communication (NVC). The App provides:
- Interactive educational lessons on NVC principles
- Daily practice exercises
- Guided journaling features
- AI-powered chat assistance
- Progress tracking and gamification elements
User Accounts
To use certain features of the App, you must create an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
Subscriptions and Payments
Giraffe Space offers both free and premium subscription tiers:
- Free Tier: Limited access to daily practice and AI chat (10 messages/day)
- Premium Monthly: $4.99/month for full access to all features
- Premium Annual: $29.99/year (50% savings) for full access to all features
Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. By subscribing, you agree to Apple's terms of service for in-app purchases. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policies.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality
- Upload malicious content or code
- Harass, abuse, or harm others through the App
- Use automated systems to access the App without permission
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App
AI Chat Disclaimer
Important: Gigi, our AI chat assistant, is designed to help you practice NVC concepts and is NOT a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or counseling. The AI provides educational guidance only and should not be relied upon for:
- Mental health diagnosis or treatment
- Crisis intervention or emergency support
- Medical or psychological advice
- Legal, financial, or professional guidance
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact emergency services or a qualified mental health professional immediately.
Intellectual Property
The App and its content, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software, are owned by Giraffe Space and protected by intellectual property laws. NVC concepts and terminology are based on the work of Dr. Marshall B. Rosenberg and the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
User Content
You retain ownership of content you create within the App (journal entries, chat messages, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the service. We will not share your personal content with third parties except as described in our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Giraffe Space shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, emotional distress, or relationship outcomes.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Giraffe Space and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these terms.
Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes when possible.
Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms. We will notify you of material changes through the App or via email.
Governing Law
These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Giraffe Space operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
